Purpose
Microscopic radial head fractures are difficult to detect and are performed to radiography in various directions.
Preliminary Confirmation
Remove the obstacle.
Positioning
Seat the patient in the chair.
Raise the upper arm, elbow joint, and wrist joint to shoulder height.
Bend patient’s elbow at 90 degrees.
1. Maximum external rotation : Externally rotate the wrist joint as much as possible.
2. Hnad lateral : Place wrist joint in true lateral position.
3. Hand pronated : Palm down.
4. Maximum internal rotation : Internally rotate the wrist joint as much as possible.
CR, distance, field size
CR : Vertical incidence at a point 2 cm distal to the lateral epicondyle.
Distance : 100cm
Field size : The range includes 1/3 upper arm to 1/3 forearm.

50kV / 4mAs

Normal
As with lateral elbow joint imaging, the elbow joint should be in its true lateral aspect.
1. Maximum external rotation : The radial tuberosity surface can be observed slightly anteriorly.
2. Hand lateral : The radial tuberosity surface superimpose the radial diaphysis. Not in profile.
3. Hand pronated : The contour of the radial tuberosity can be observed posteriorly.
4. Maximum internal rotation : The radial tuberosity can be observed posteriorly, adjacent to the ulna.
