The 2nd and 3rd fingers : internally rotate the arm and press the back of the 1st finger against the cassette.
The 4th and 5th fingers : press the outer side of the palm against the cassette.
Center the target area (or PIP) on the cassette.
Ensure the long axis of the finger is parallel to the long axis of the cassette.
Use the non-examining hand to move any fingers not involved in the examination out of the field of view.

CR, distance, field size
CR : Direct the X-ray perpendicularly toward the target area (or PIP) for the examination.
Distance : 100cm
Field size : Include the entire range from the fingertip to the proximal phalanx in the imaging area.
