Purpose
Observation of the coronoid process of ulna and olecranon.
Prior confirmation
Remove all obstructions.
Positioning
Seat the patient in the chair.
Raise the upper arm, elbow joint, and wrist joint to shoulder height.
Extend the elbow joint.
45 degree tilt the line connecting the medial and lateral epicondyles.
– Tend the upper body as attempting internal rotation with the arms alone can cause twisting and lack of internal rotation.
Turn the palm downward.
CR, distance, field size
CR : width of the one finger distal to the elbow crease at the midpoint of the medial and lateral epicondyles.
Distance : 100cm
Field size : The range includes the distal 1/2 of the humerus to the proximal 1/2 of the forearm, narrowing to the skin surface on the left and right sides.
