Purpose
Observation of the radial head, neck, and capitulum.
Radial head projected free of superimposition of the ulna.
Prior confirmation
Remove an obstacle.
Positioning
Seat the patient in the chair.
Raise the upper arm, elbow joint, and wrist joint to shoulder height.
Extend the elbow joint.
45 degree tilt the line connecting the medial and lateral epicondyles.
– Tend the upper body as attempting external rotation with the arms alone can cause twisting and lack of external rotation.
CR, distance, field size
CR : width of the one finger distal to the elbow crease at the midpoint of the medial and lateral epicondyles.
Distance : 100cm
Field size : The range includes the distal 1/2 of the humerus to the proximal 1/2 of the forearm, narrowing to the skin surface on the left and right sides.
